Browns Bay Pine Removal -2
Two weeks after completing the removal of the first pine on this property we set out to remove the second pine. The pine tree was also considered unsafe and on the verge of falling down the cliff. It was not only a hazard to pedestrians on the coastal walk but also threatening to pull valuable land with it when it falls. The cliff face will be re-vegetated with more suitable native shrubs and trees. All branches were lowered to the landing area using the Pro Climb Rigging Bollard. The heavy trunk was felled on to a cushion of branches using a pulley tackle creating a mechanical advantage of 15-1.

Lombardy Poplar Tree Removal Mt Eden
Pro Climb was asked to help with the removal of 6 Lombardy poplar trees in Mt Eden. The trees had developed extensive rot in the tree trunk. It is to be assumed that the roots of the tree were damaged while the house was built. Proper tree management when planning and constructing the building could have prevented this costly job.

Job of the Week
Paulownia Tree Removal – Manukau
This Paulownia tree had an approx. 1m split in the main union. We recommended the removal of the tree over preservation methods. One side of the tree canopy was dead leading to the assumption of root damage . The tree also showed no signs of compensation growth to the damage (split) in the main union. Paulownia trees are not native to New Zealand and although they add aesthetic value to a property, they have very little ecological value for native fauna and flora.
The contract involved the dismantle of the tree without damaging any of the bordering vegetation or structures as well as ringing up the wood.

Browns Bay Pine Removal
The pine tree was considered unsafe and on the verge of falling down the cliff. Dave from Independent Tree Care Ltd asked Fredrik Hjelm and me to help with the removal of this tree. Using the GRCS and a two-to-one hauling system to control the loads made it possible to land all wood safely and controlled in the landing area away from the cliff face.
